While this might not be a big deal to most, I figure the event here is news worthy.Earlier this year Tetris Ultimate was pulled from all storefronts. With that move, it seems the “only one digital Tetris title per platform” restriction was removed. It's crazy how many Tetris-inspired games I can play on Xbox One, but there is no properly released Tetris on there anymore. I have Ultimate, couldn't be bothered importing Puyo Puyo (ended up getting on Switch anyway), and none of the prior generation Tetris games are backwards compatible. Gotta think that the licensing around these games is a mess, otherwise there seems to be no valid reason to literally skip an entire console for a game that is relatively cheap to make (given that the gameplay core is settled) and that is practically guaranteed to sell well. The core game was great (albeit with a confusing progression system based on cryptic badges), it's just that the multiplayer was completely broken.
I still play it every now and then for when I want to play Tetris and I'm on Xbox, although since I got Puyo Puyo and Tetris 99 on Switch it's really almost futile to go back to that. I know a lot of people criticized the OST, but I personally really enjoyed the slower, more emotional piano rendition of the Tetris theme in particular - it sounds weird on paper but it was actually great to listen to. Kinda insane how I can't seem to find said song on YouTube, but I did manage to find a video or two where you can see/hear the menu. I timestamped it at 2:06 in case it doesn't work, you can hear the piano rendition in the background. Great stuff imho.
Cat ninja project refresh. In fact, it is a mixture of a puzzle and adventure game where you play as a ninja cat who have to complete quests and stay alive. Don't think that the game is very easy and you will complete all levels within few minutes.
Marathon
The newest iteration will include multiplayer for up to 4 players, with several modes: Marathon, Endless, Ultra, Sprint, Battle and Power-Up Battle. The developer worked with Alexey Pajitnov, the original game's creator, to create Tetris Ultimate. Feb 07, 2019 Unfortunately, #WarGames and Tetris Ultimate are only available digitally on Xbox One so it looks as if this could be the end of both titles for the majority of players who haven’t bought them.
